Dr John's primary research and clinical interest is in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance and management. He is interested in exploring novel biochemical and radiological surveillance modalities in detecting HCC in subjects with cirrhosis. Other interests include the use of radiological and nuclear imaging for the diagnosis and prognostication of HCC as well outcomes studies in patients with cirrhosis and risk factors in development of HCC. He is also interested in loco regional and systemic therapies for HCC and is involved in clinical trials for systemic therapy of HCC
