What Does the Firefighter Cancer Initiative Teach?
FCI's Cancer Prevention and Educational Curriculum educates firefighters, from cadets to retired firefighters, about their occupational cancer risk and what strategies may be effective to reduce it. We conduct station visits, host virtual seminars, present cooking demos, and more to equip firefighters and their leadership with as many tools as possible that promote cancer prevention and risk reduction.
Our curriculum also educates healthcare providers on everything from the unique risks of firefighters to what screenings should be offered and when.
