Join Our Lab
We are seeking a recent graduate or early-career postdoc to join a highly interactive and dynamic research team to develop a comprehensive picture of how taste works in the mammalian periphery.
Our lab conducts in vivo confocal Ca2+ imaging of sensory ganglion neurons (Nat Commun. 2015; 6:8171). Using single cell RNAseq, we developed a molecular taxonomy of taste neurons (Nat Commun. 2017; 8:760). We are now combining these and additional approaches to define stimulus-evoked responses, development and connectivity of molecularly identified sensory neurons. We would like to recruit a recent Ph.D. in physiology, neuroscience, or a related field. The successful candidate will have documented expertise in Ca2+ imaging or electrophysiology.
This position will allow you to expand your expertise in additional areas such as transcriptomics, molecular genetics, neuroanatomical tracing, and/or in situ hybridization/ immunostaining through collaborations with others in the lab. With mentoring by an experienced PI, you can enhance your writing skills through abstract and manuscript submission and improve your presentation skills through poster sessions and seminars. You can develop your own mentoring skills by working with undergraduate and graduate students working in the lab. You will be able to assist in grant writing and/or submit your own application.
