At the 2024 ESPY Awards, tennis legend and philanthropist Serena Williams announced the V Foundation for Cancer Research’s groundbreaking 10-year, $30 million partnership with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) to fund cancer research at Sylvester. This historic collaboration will support the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, with the goal of improving cancer treatment nationwide.
This partnership represents the V Foundation’s largest fundraising effort to date and builds on the success of the Stuart Scott Fund, which has awarded nearly $16 million to cancer researchers. The funding will support a range of innovative projects, including those focused on aggressive B-cell lymphoma, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer and T-cell malignancies, led by prominent researchers, such as Jay Spiegel, M.D., Peter Hosein, M.D., Jashodeep Datta, M.D. and Alejandro Villarino, Ph.D. This collaboration is set to make significant strides in cancer prevention, treatment and research.
