At 16, Braulio Hernandez was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin lymphoma. After undergoing intensive chemotherapy at Sylvester and treatment at alex’s place, he has been cancer-free for five years. His journey through treatment, marked by leadingedge research and compassionate care, inspired him to advocate for increased funding for childhood cancer research and safer, more effective treatments. Now a film student at the University of Southern California, Hernandez is passionate about raising awareness about the need for treatments specifically designed for children.
He believes that young patients deserve therapies that not only fight cancer but also protect their futures from harmful long-term side effects.
