From vibrant luncheons to spirited walks, South Florida’s philanthropic community continued to unite behind Sylvester’s mission to end breast cancer. During 2025, three signature events, Cancer Link’s annual luncheon, Shoes for a Cure and PINK-o de MAYO, raised critical funds for research and patient programs inspiring hope for thousands affected by the disease.
Cancer Link, a longtime partner in finding cures for breast cancer, hit a milestone of raising close to $4.5 million to support Sylvester. The group hosted its annual luncheon featuring moving survivor stories and updates from Sylvester physician-scientists. The event showed how donor support accelerates research and advances care for patients throughout the region.
In October, Shoes for a Cure brought together hundreds of supporters for a shopping event throughout Miami’s Design District. The event not only raised awareness but also generated $100,000 in contributions to advance clinical trials and innovative therapies.
Shoes for a Cure Miami is the first expansion of Shoes for a Cure, the fashion and footwear industry’s foremost fundraiser, which began in New York City in 1994 and has raised more than $65 million for vital breast cancer research and treatment.
In April, PINK-o de MAYO added a festive twist to fundraising, celebrating strength and survivorship with music, dancing and community spirit. The event highlighted Sylvester’s comprehensive approach to care, supporting patients, survivors and “previvors” through prevention, treatment and recovery. The event raised more than $100,000 for patient support services and the CARE Clinic at Sylvester.
Together, these efforts reflected a shared commitment: to transform breast cancer outcomes through research, education and compassionate care. Every dollar raised moves Sylvester closer to its vision of a future without breast cancer.
