OUR COMMUNITY
In 2025, our efforts amplified our transformative mission in the communities we serve. We believe that cancer prevention, early detection and compassionate care start in neighborhoods, where trust forms the foundation for real change. This belief shaped each of our community initiatives as we brought together scientific innovation and human compassion to bridge gaps and inspire hope.
We joined U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz at the Cancer Survivorship Summit in Florida. We helped amplify voices that remind us survivorship is about more than treatment, it’s about policy, support and dignity. We discussed hospice and bereavement care, ensuring families understood their options and felt supported during their most difficult moments. Sylvester teams also advanced community-based screening for Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that can increase the risk for stomach cancer and tackled some of the biggest challenges in the field.
Research spotlighted by the American Cancer Society revealed troubling trends of younger cancer diagnoses, underscoring the urgency for prevention and education across all generations. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our events empowered communities with tools for early detection, while new studies highlighted how geography influences breast cancer aggressiveness, reinforcing the need for outreach and resources in certain areas.
Education remained a cornerstone of our outreach during 2025, as we worked to empower individuals with knowledge to prevent cancer and make informed health decisions. Through workshops, wellness fairs and interactive exhibits, we delivered practical guidance on screening, nutrition and lifestyle choices that reduce risk. By fostering understanding and encouraging proactive care, we strengthened the foundation for healthier lives, because education is the first step toward transformation.
