This year at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth - University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine, we have witnessed the extraordinary impact of vision, collaboration from our faculty and staff and an unwavering commitment to excellence in our community. “Entering Our Next Half-Century,” the theme of this year’s Impact Report, captures not only the progress we have made but also the bold path we are forging together to find new cures for cancer and to prevent it.
In 2025, Sylvester reached new heights. We were once again recognized among the nation’s top 50 cancer centers by U.S. News & World Report and named one of the top 100 oncology programs by Becker’s. These honors reflect the collective dedication and hard work of our teams and the trust placed in us by those we serve.
Our commitment to transforming the future of cancer care was aided by the opening of the Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building and the expansion of cancer care facilities at Plantation and SoLé Mia. These milestones bring hope and healing closer to home for more Floridians, fulfilling our promise to deliver innovative treatments with compassion and convenience.
Our progress is fueled by the generosity and vision of our philanthropic partners. The Dolphins Cancer Challenge and The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research remain pillars of our advancement. This year, we welcomed retired NFL star Jimmy Graham as a new member of the Sylvester Board of Governors. The Board of Governors continues to inspire a culture of philanthropy, collaboration and innovation that propels Sylvester forward and honors the legacy of the Sylvester family.
In 2025, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Sylvester Firefighter Cancer Initiative, now reaching nearly every Florida county. We also launched the Sylvester Survivorship and Supportive Care Institute, one of the nation’s few dedicated survivorship institutes. Our work in artificial intelligence and our expanding portfolio of clinical trials are advancing new frontiers in research and patient outcomes.
We are committed to mentoring the next generation of oncologists and scientists and are proud to recognize our radiation oncology team for becoming the nation’s first to earn a certification of excellence for stereotactic radiosurgery treatments of malignant and benign brain disorders from the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society.
Every patient, donor, volunteer and researcher fuels our progress. Your trust, generosity and partnership are transforming what is possible in cancer care and research. Within the pages of this report, you will see a year defined by innovation, discoveries, practice-changing National Cancer Institute clinical trials, growth and hope, made possible because of you, our partners and the community.
With unwavering optimism for the future,
