Liceta Portela, B.S.N., R.N., O.C.N., and her daughter Tabatha Portela, B.S.N., R.N., O.C.N., share more than a workplace at Sylvester, they share a lifelong calling to care for others. More than two decades ago, Liceta brought her young daughter along on home health visits, giving Tabatha an early glimpse into the compassion and dedication that define nursing. Inspired by her mother’s example, Tabatha pursued the same path and later joined Sylvester as a charge nurse in neuro-oncology. Liceta followed soon after. Together, they bring a personal legacy of compassion into their work with patients and families.
