The Sylvester Administration 2025 Staff Retreat brought together members of Sylvester’s administrative community from across the cancer center to strengthen connection, collaboration, and shared purpose in support of Sylvester’s mission. Held in December 2025, the retreat, hosted by Lauren Whitmore, M.A., Associate Director of Administration, convened more than 130 participants. Developed by a staff-led committee representing Sylvester’s infrastructure, the agenda aligned with Cancer Center Support Grant priorities and the institution’s strategic goals.
Participants represented the full continuum of administrative functions supporting Sylvester’s research and clinical enterprise, including research administration, finance, data and analytics, project management, facilities, recruitment, education and training, community outreach and engagement, regulatory oversight, and operational leadership. Through project sharing and peer dialogue, staff reflected on accomplishments and lessons learned from 2025 initiatives, including the activation of more than 400 clinical research protocols in the Griffin Cancer Research Building and data-driven planning of scientific neighborhoods during the building’s first phase.
The retreat represented a strategic investment in workforce connection and collaboration, reinforcing that a unified administrative community is essential to supporting patients, faculty, research, and the communities Sylvester serves.
