Frank Penedo, Ph.D., associate director for population sciences and director of Sylvester Survivorship and Supportive Care Institute, leads Sylvester’s efforts in advancing cancer survivorship care in community health centers across South Florida. Supported by a $4 million National Cancer Institute grant, a five-year study of a program that trains primary care clinicians to deliver evidence-based survivorship care for patients who have completed cancer treatment. Launching in 14 federally qualified health centers, the effort aims to strengthen care delivery and improve outcomes by embedding survivorship practices into primary care.
