The opening of the UHealth SoLé Mia Medical Center in North Miami and the addition of radiation oncology services at Sylvester Plantation marked significant milestones in Sylvester’s expansion strategy. These developments, in addition to our new satellite facility in Doral, Fla., and the Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building in downtown Miami, significantly expands our presence in South Florida and improves access for our community.
Healing Within Reach
Broward County residents gained access to advanced radiation treatments and comprehensive cancer care closer to where they live when radiation oncology became available at Sylvester Plantation.
The 95,800-square-foot facility, currently home to 57,000 square feet of Sylvester clinical space with additional floors being activated, has long served as a hub for leading-edge cancer services, offering state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments for rare and complex cancers. The addition of radiation oncology enables patients to access all nonsurgical cancer services in one location in Broward, streamlining care and improving outcomes.
Strength in Place
In North Miami, the official opening of UHealth SoLé Mia Medical Center brought Sylvester’s leading-edge technology and world-class physician-researchers under one roof in a state-of-the-art patient care center.
“SoLé Mia represents the kind of visionary development that aligns with our mission at Sylvester—to bring leading-edge care and community-centered innovation together,” said Elisa Krill-Jackson, M.D., a Sylvester breast oncologist and researcher based at SoLé Mia.
