OUR DONORS
During 2025, extraordinary generosity and heartfelt commitment shaped our mission and strengthened hope for patients and families. From major gifts to grassroots efforts, our supporters fueled innovation, compassion and meaningful progress.
Kenneth Griffin’s $50 million gift brought the Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building to life. The facility opened in 2025 and is already accelerating collaboration and discovery for generations to come. Grassroots champions such as Castaways Against Cancer, which has raised more than $2.7 million for Sylvester, provided not only support for cancer research but also care packages for patients and caregivers. Vahan and Danielle Gureghian’s $2.5 million donation to advance cancer research and medical education ensures our physician-scientists have the resources they need to pursue future cures.
Sharon Lior, a mother on a mission, contributed $500,000 to advance childhood cancer research. Dick Wing, a clinical trial participant whose treatment cured his melanoma, joined with his wife, Lisa, to provide ongoing support for Sylvester’s melanoma research fund. The Wings’ gift strengthens the work of Dr. Jose Lutzky and his colleagues as they develop improved therapies for melanoma and other skin cancers.
The Drew Gross Forever Foundation provided essential support for Sylvester’s community outreach programs. We were able to expand screenings and education through initiatives such as Sylvester’s Game Changer™ vehicles, bringing hope and critical services directly to neighborhoods across South Florida.
We also celebrated the healing power of philanthropy through gifts supporting our pet therapy program, which brings comfort to patients during treatment through visits with Joy, a golden retriever. These moments reminded us that philanthropy heals in ways that extend far beyond medicine.
Together, we shaped a future for cancer care defined by innovation and empathy. We remain profoundly grateful to all who stood with us, proving that when we are united, our progress is unstoppable.
