Are you currently undergoing cancer treatment and experiencing chills, fever, constipation, or another pressing health concern?

Cancer and its treatments can sometimes cause side effects and complications that need prompt medical attention. The Oncology Comprehensive Assessment/Rapid Evaluation and Treatment (C.A.R.E.) Clinic, a service of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, is here to provide it.

Staffed by cancer specialists, the clinic offers same-day appointments that allow you to receive a thorough evaluation and appropriate medical care without a trip to the emergency room (ER). Avoiding the ER helps you steer clear of people with transmissible diseases while your immune system is compromised. It can also help you avoid long ER waits and more expensive hospital visits. With quick treatment, you can take control of worrisome symptoms and potentially avoid a hospital admission, as well.

Hours

The Oncology C.A.R.E. Clinic is open: Monday–Friday (excluding holidays) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Who provides the care in the Oncology C.A.R.E. Clinic?

Our clinic is staffed by hematology/oncology-trained advanced practice providers – our nurse practitioners (NPs) and/or physician assistants (PAs). They have access to your medical records and extensive experience working with cancer patients.

What will happen when I arrive?

Our team will evaluate your symptoms and may order certain tests. Based on your diagnosis, they may provide treatment directly in the clinic or offer instructions for self-care that allows you to return home. If the team believes you need more extensive medical attention, they may admit you to the hospital or refer you for emergency services.
