Updated Visitor Policy

Please note that these guidelines are created to ensure the safety of our patients. We appreciate your assistance and collaboration in this effort.

For all visitors to inpatients at UHealth Tower, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center:

  • Inpatients are permitted to have two visitors from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Visits will end promptly at 6 p.m.
  • FaceTime or other video-based visits are encouraged.
  • In most cases, overnight visitation is not permitted.
  • If a surgical patient is returned to their room after 6 p.m. post-op, two visitors will be allowed for a 30-minute visitation.

If you are visiting a COVID positive patient:

  • Two visitors will be permitted between 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Visits will end promptly at 6 p.m.
  • Visitors will check in with screeners at the East lobby, be made aware of the health risks, and follow the protocols provided.
  • We will assist visitors with proper protective equipment (PPE) and escort you to the patient room.
  • You will be expected to follow infection control guidelines, wear PPE at all times, and stay in the patient’s room for the duration of the visit.
  • Visitors are not allowed to consume food or drinks while in the patient’s room.

If you are coming with a patient to one of our ambulatory centers:

  • One healthy visitor may accompany each patient.
  • Patients and visitors must wear a mask and follow the facility’s screening process.

If you are coming with a patient to the emergency department or oncology care clinic:

  • One healthy visitor may accompany each patient.
  • Patients and visitors must wear a mask and follow the facility’s screening process.
